International Journal of Body, Mind and Culture

The IJBMC team is primarily based in Germany (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg Department of Psychosomatic Medicine) and Canada (Behi Academy), with additional international editors hailing from diverse countries.

In 2014, in a session in the course of a Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) project, "Globalization and Mental Health", by the presence of Michael Wirsching, Farzad Goli, Carl Eduard Scheidt, and Hamid Afshar, it was decided to release a journal for psychosomatic studies, especially interdisciplinary and cross-cultural ones, and also theoretical studies in the medical philosophy. This led to the establishment of the International Journal of Body, Mind, and Culture (IJBMC), and an international eligible editorial board. The first issue of International Journal was released in 2014.

The IJBMC (International Journal of Body, Mind and Culture) is an international bimonthly double-blind peer-reviewed interdisciplinary medical journal and a fully “online first” publication. Our publishing model—continuous publication— means that all articles appear on ijbmc.org before being released in the complete issue.

The website is updated weekly with the IJBMC’s latest theoretical and original research, case reports, education, news, and comment articles. All the IJBMC’s research is published with open access and up to 5000 word counts. There is an exception for theoretical paper that could be more than the word limitation of the journal which may end up to 7500 words.
